This process can take from 4 days to 1 week or sometimes 2 weeks - so if you are the impatience type please ask if the item is ready stock and he can get them to ship within 24 hours period. This will save you time and worries as well as the frustration of waiting.
4. Plan your purchase and take not of the public holiday in China and international public holidays - this is because during this period the China customs will be extremely busy processing parcels and packages - some of them maybe go on holiday and that could cause a massive delay for the item to ship. There are cases the item stuck in the China customs up to 3 weeks - so it's not worth to wait for this kind of delay for a small item - unless that is something of the least important to you

Ok thank you. This is a pretty expensive purchase so I'm just praying that it's not lost or something. Hoping it's going to be shipping really soon. What are some signs to look for if there's been a problem? (like a lost package)
DeleteYou can't be sure really because anything could happen in the process - as a purchasing item from China might go through a few locations within China itself before it is finally shipped out. It would be best to contact the seller and if they don't respond within a week or two perhaps it's time to call for dispute. When purchasing an expensive be sure to check the following

2. Buy ready stock item - and always ask the seller how long the processing time. It could take a week or more when they don't have it at hand, especially expensive item because they couldn't afford to hold the stock as they are expensive.

Thanks. Yeah this seller has VERY good reviews. And it's for carbon road bike wheels, so you get to pick the parts that go on the wheels. So they build them to your order specs. I have received conformation that they have definitely left China on December 30. Is it normal for an EMS package to take this long? (7 or 8 days since they left China). And will I get tracking updates within the U.S.A.?
ReplyDeleteYes definitely normal - there are many circumstances that may occur along the way during shipment. And once the parcel arrived in the USA and registered in the USPS tracking system you will be able to track the item. There are some weird incidents as well where the package arrive to you without any updates.
ReplyDeleteYeah that's what I've read about happening quite often. People won't get any more updates once their EMS package arrives in the U.S.A. It'll still show just that it left China, they won't get any updates for a week or so, and then it just shows up on their doorstep one day out of nowhere. $400 package isn't something I want sitting on my front step. That's why I can't believe I might not get any more updates. This is torture having no clue where it's at. Oh well. Thanks for your help!!
ReplyDeleteWow $400 no wonder you are so extremely worried...If it were me i won't risk that much ;) cause i use to buy from china spending $1 to $5 for small electronic parts and still some of them won't arrive although most of them did. However of course i am using free shipping where there is no tracking available. But i won't be so worried considering the amount of my purchase I always be in peace hehe..

Yeah I'm DEFINITELY stressed out like crazy. Can't get an answer from anybody and don't know where exactly my wheels even are at. I'm sure they're going to get to me eventually, but I can't take this stress and worrying. Won't be ordering anymore from China. I'll stick to Amazon Prime. Get your stuff in 2 days.

I have so many packages coming my way from China and they’re all taking more than a month now. It would be my first time shopping online with China to add items to my business. Could it be because of the coronavirus that it is taking long?

Yes they starting to prepare to ship your item...and corona virus covid-19 is one of the major cause the item delay for shipment. Not to mention when it arrives in the US later on they might want to check or sterilize the item to free it from the virus which may cause another delay

ReplyDeleteIt could be due to the covid-19 they are working slowly to prepare your parcel for shipment. Adding up to that is the export customs checking. So 1 week is a normal time and there are times it could be longer than that.
