Frustrating long wait China post registered mail -- returned package from Correos de Mexico

One example of very frustrating shipping item encounter from China via Registered mail service. As you can see the item was shipped on the 07 March 2017 and arrived in Mexico on the 05 April 2017 and then go through all kind of bureaucracy processed and then eventually getting it returned back to china on 23 May 2017. The whole process took around 2 to 3 months which is very crazy. Would it be better just get the refund and move on with life rather than hoping it for so long. The first tracking is from China post website and the second tracking is from Correos de mexico.
